My Story

Hi, I’m Velvet 👋 — a registered nurse of 20 years, full-time RVer, Disney adult, and proud chronic illness warrior living with lupus.

For years, I searched for what life could look like beyond limits.

Illness, work, and everyday challenges didn’t stop me — instead, they pushed me to create a life that feels meaningful, adventurous, and mine.

Over the years, I’ve shared parts of my story with communities like Lupus Chick and The Mighty. Writing has become a way for me to process, connect, and hopefully remind others that they aren’t alone in this journey. This blog is where I open the door a little wider.
